Daniel Goodenough has been a member of the faculty of Harvard Medical School since 1971, when he was appointed an Instructor immediately after completing postdoctoral training at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Goodenough also received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Harvard University in 1966 and 1970, respectively. He was promoted to Professor in 1981 and named the Takeda Professor of Cell Biology in 1989. Dr. Goodenough has served as the Master of the Oliver Wendell Holmes Society since 1992 and from 1985 to 1989. In addition to research and teaching, Dr. Goodenough is an active member of the Center for Health and the Global Environment at Harvard Medical School which is active in teaching and research related to human health and global environmental change.
