Danesh Moazed received his Ph.D. from the University of California at Santa Cruz working on the structure and function of ribosomal RNA with Harry Noller. After post-doctoral studies at UCSF with Patrick O'Farrell and Sandy Johnson, he joined the faculty at Harvard Medical School in 1998. In July 2008 Danesh was appointed as a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator.
