Tomer Avidor-Reiss received his Ph.D. from the Weizmann Institute of Science at Rehovot, Israel, working on the mechanism of opiates addiction with Zvi Vogel. He then preformed a post-doctoral study at University of California San-Diego with Charles Zuker where he developed a novel bioinformatic approach to identify genes that are required specifically for ciliogenesis. Finally, he joined the faculty at Harvard Medical School in 2005 where his research group focuses on cilium biology.
